Purely Health Direct

Can Factory worked closely with Purely Health Direct and Adams Creative to ensure that the end solution met their requirements in every detail.

Technology
The Purely Health Direct website uses Can Factory's Mantis E-Commerce system. This takes the form of a several independent modules which operate together, alongside bespoke extensions written specifically for PHD.

Mantis also provides a generic interface to a number of different payment solutions, including WorldPay and ePDQ, and also offers Verified by Visa and Mastercard SecureCode support. It is designed to be easy to extend to support other third-party payment solutions.

User registration is handled by the Can Factory Scarab system, which, in a similar way to Mantis, is several modules that can be put together in different ways, depending on client needs. Again, these modules were augmented to support specific Purely Health Direct requirements.

The above systems were created using Java J2EE technology.

Back-Office Integration
One requirement of the solution was for it to be integrated with Purely Health Directs back-office systems. Originally there were two different systems involved (each supplied by a different third-party).

The order-fulfilment process was implemented by a mail-order company, orders being automatically exported from the website into their systems.

Product and catalogue management, including pricing and promotions, was managed by PHD using a piece of third-party software. The online catalogue system was fully integrated with the back-office, allowing PHD full control over the details of the catalogue from their desktops.

The Can Factory Mantis system can provide online administration modules for full catalogue management over the web, however this clients requirement was for integration with a specific system, which Can Factory were happy to provide.

Support
The Purely Health Direct website has been live since March 2004, and during that period Can Factory has provided regular technical support and maintenance.

The website continues to be successful, both technically and commercially.
