Can Factory releases free Cineworld iPhone app

On the 14th July 2010, Cineworld became the only UK cinema chain to offer its customers film information from a dedicated iPhone application.

Designed and developed by Can Factory, and described as ‘the complete cinema package for your pocket’, the Cineworld application provides cinema-goers with quick and easy access to film content, alongside the ability to purchase tickets directly for Cineworld’s cinemas in the UK and Ireland.

Film-fans can use the iPhone app to locate their nearest Cineworld cinema and access detailed information including: facilities, contact details, maps, directions, and screening times. Users can also select their ‘Favourite’ cinemas for easier access to their local listings.

In addition, the application provides access to film trailers, and details of upcoming releases.

Due to the large number of Cineworld cinemas, Can Factory also developed a unique solution to allow users to simultaneously compare film schedules and listings across multiple venues.

Once users have made a decision, they can quickly and securely book tickets via the application.

This announcement follows the recent launches of other innovative digital solutions Can Factory has developed for Cineworld, including a cross-platform mobile website, a dedicated Facebook application, and the Cineworld Cinemas API, which allows 3rd party developers access to Cineworld’s cinema and film screening time information.

The Cineworld iPhone Application is available to download free of charge from the iTunes Store.
